Pioneer Day

July 24, 2009: Pioneer Day. A day that I don't think I have ever celebrated in California and until that day or a few days before I didn't know what was going to happen, everyone was saying that it was great that I was going to be there for the 24th, but I had no idea what holiday it was. When Gram went to the Bank one day I finally saw a sign that said "We will be closed Friday July 24, 2009 for Pioneer Day" At night there were fireworks!

We brought Ceaser to see Gramp, how excited both of them were. Ceaser was a busy little cat, he was walking all over Gramps room looking around and getting used to his surroundings. Gramp was so happy to see Ceaser! He couldn't stop petting him. He missed his little Kitty.

The pool was up and ready for us to swim. The Shirley's had their swimsuits on when they came over, and we ready to swim. Tirzah and Alyssa had to go back out and get something for the pool filter, I think. While we waited for the pool to be ready, I changed into my swimsuit, and Gram, Rye, and Tae watched some NCIS. It was the first day swimming, so the pool wasn't that cold. Mattea couldn't wait to get it. They had some pool toys, and goggles. Some toys floated most sank to the bottom. We went around in circles and did a whirl pool, so much fun! The last time I went swimming was for Mystery Day, and ever since I had really wanted to go swimming, but I never got around to it. I am so glad that I could do it! It was a good enough pool for swimming and having fun with friends. There had to be a latter to get into the pool, or when we got in all the water would come out of it. We had a lot of fun swimming, and I am sure that the Shirleys are going to come back and swim.

For Dinner, Gram did not feel like doing any cooking so we went to Costa Verde, a little Mexican resturant that Gram likes to go and eat. It is very close to her house, and very yummy. A delightful dinner to finish off this day.
