The Good-byes

This Day was not a happy day, I knew that I would be headed home, and I was not ready to go back. It felt like I had just got there and now I was leaving in a matter of hours. Gram and I had our work cut out for us. It was going to be a busy day, and a sad one at the end.

Of course I had some packing that had to be done. I had started it the night before and still had some to do this morning. I figured that It wouldn't take me that long to pack so Gram and I went out at about 9 or 10 so that I could say Good-bye to Gramp. We took some pictures, some of all of us and then there were a few that were just me and Gramp.

Doing all of this made it even more real that I was close to leaving. After we all said good bye and hung out for a while, Gram and I had to go and pick up Alyssa and Mattea from piano practice. We had left early enough that we would have had to wait, but Gram did some crazy driving and we drove in circles looking for the right house. After a while we did find the house, we just drove down the wrong street a few times.

We had to drive back to the Shirley's to wait for Marion, and then everyone was headed to Grams, and Marion was leaving with Grams car. It was strange looking in Grams garage and not seeing her car in it, there was just this empty space where the car was.

The Shirley Girls did some swimming while I finished my packing, the pool was there and they weren't going to waste any time. I had decided that it was smart not to get wet so that when it was time to leave I did not have anything drying.

A little after One O'clock, a few of us decided to play nerts! Yay cards, and Gram was going to play also. For a while Mariah was helping Gram because Gram had not won a game, and everyone else was going just a little faster then she was. After a while, Gram was no longer allowed help. I guess she decided she was going to cheat instead. Below: Gram thought everyone was ready and had flipped over her cards, but Mattea was still dealing out her cards, "Gram! You are Cheating!" So she thought doing that would be helpful, so that she could no longer see all of the cards, just two or three. At about two thirty Tirzah came over, and took some time to relax. She played Spit (another card game) with Mariah, while Gram, Alyssa, Mattea, and I kept playing Nerts. We were playing for a while, card games, and doing some talking. Gram wanted to know how Tirzah was doing, how the day was going. It was a hard day for her, very busy.
By 3:15 we were all getting ready to go. My flight was at 4:45, and it was going to take some time to get to the airport. Here is where I had to say Good-bye to Gram, there wasn't enough room in Tirzah's car to hold all of us, and she had to drop the girls off at the house. It was hard saying bye to Gram. I had been with her for a little over a week, and now I was leaving her all alone. This makes me so sad.
We drove to the airport, talked some about school and what I was headed back to. Tirzah came into the airport with me, waited in line with me while I checked in my bag, and stood at the back while I went through security. Tirzah was the last person I said Good-bye to. I couldn't believe that I was leaving. After I got up the escalator I looked back and waved the my last good-bye to Tirzah.

I had some time to wait for the plane to come. I sat, and waited. The plane was delayed, so it didn't lift off until closer to 5:00pm. It took some time to load everyone one the plane and load the luggage, all of that. It was a plane ride that I did not want to get on, and one that seemed the saddest. I had to say Good bye to it all, the mountains, and most of all My Family. The memories that I had there will always be with me, and so cherished.
