There is something about music that gives off emotion while also sounding great to the ear. Some songs more then others show what the artist was feeling or going through when writing the song. Take Kelly Clarkson's "Since you Been Gone" it is that she is glad that person is gone because a weight has been lifted off her shoulders or something like that. Not all music videos will show you what they were feeling but show something fun like Maroon 5's "Sunday Morning".
The different feelings could be agony, pain, regret, love, hate, and so many others. Of course not all songs could be showing emotion but something they had fun doing, telling a story, or something they may have done. Not many people can think of music as emotion they just think that it is a good song to listen to and dance to.
I remember hearing on the Radio that Plain White T's song Hey there Delilah was written after someone in the band met her at a party and told her that he was going to write a song about her. So there is an example of what is the inspiration for artists.
