Coyote Point Museum

Today was an awesome day! Tanya, KC and I went to Coyote Point Museum. Tanya had some school work she had to do there and after had to write a paper about it....gross! I thought I would be fun to go along so that I could go somewhere I don't go that often. There were some cute animals there like a baby fox, a river otter, some frogs and snakes, and an owl. The Owl was sharing the place with a bunny but we couldn't seem to find it. It was fun to go and see everything.

We missed them feeding the baby fox but got to see Leroy (the otter) be fed which was good because Tanya loves otters. It was interesting to hear all the things that are different between a river otter and a sea otter. It was also nice to hear that after being fed he likes to go and sleep, which reminds me of some people. Leroy is 20 years old which is pretty rare for otters because most live to I think it was 15.

Fact: River otters have the third strongest bite, can move a sixty-pound load, and have the ability to swim for long periods of time due to bradycardia.

When we went looking for reptiles it was hard to find the frogs, the second time it was easier to tell that they were camouflaged. There were a few that were easy to spot because they were just sitting on some rocks but that makes it no fun. Tanya's friend KC doesn't like snakes but she looked at them any way. It was funny to see her face when she saw them.

There were so many things there as well as people, I think there was a summer field trip or something because everyone looked like they matched. (That's how you don't get lost.) But there was a Beehive thing and an aviary that had an Turkey Vulture, a Common raven (which was huge), and I think a golden Eagle...not sure.
It was so much fun to see everything, I would love to go back soon.
