To be Quick: The rest of Camping
I think I forgot what it was like to wake up at a camp ground, and kind of fall asleep in one as well. You almost forget how cold it is outside, and that the fire can't come with you inside the tent. I knew it was going to be cold in the morning, my mom at least reminded me of that, but a sleeping bag covering me was not enough to keep me warm at night. I think I just needed thermal clothes or something, or I just wasn't used to that much cold. I think we might have actually started a little fire that morning because I don't think any of us were expecting that much cold.
We wanted to do some exploring that day, and around 1 o'clock we did. There were trails we could have gotten from the front entrance and used, but instead we used our own way to find an adventure. I kind of wanted to get to the little watering hole I remembered from being there before, so we were going to walk along the creek. That was sort of a little bit of a bad idea, at least on my part.
I don't think I realized how far away it was. We walked along the water, had to do a little hiking up and down, walk in a little water, and some dirt and climb. It was a little more strenuous then the hike on Sunday.

Our last full day there we all went back to the little watering hole, and stopped by one of those landmarks that gave it the name that the day care kids gave it. The Fall Down Tree Park. There is this big huge tree in the middle/near the little water hole that you can climb into, climb on and kind of play on, and carve in your name, if there was room.
It was kind of a close to an end. We took a kind of group picture there. Then went to walk along the river bank, again just a little walk, not as far but still kept us going. We did get a little soaked though, kind of going our own path and making our ways to where ever. Our last night with everyone, we played Nertz again and while I had a bad start I was at least able to catch up. There was actually a game that someone challenged me their pile with the normal 13 cards, mine with 21. Surprisingly I won. Although when I was playing those other games I would put a few more cards in my Nertz pile just to give me a little bit more of a challenge. We kind of had a big farewell dinner that night with steaks, potato salad, rice and mixed vegetables. Lots of food, but we ate it all. Guess we were hungry.
We walked, and walked, and walked but didn't reach the watering hole, like I said it was a little farther away then I realized. I say we did a pretty decent walk though, nice and pretty and refreshing. I think we got to a point and just realized we couldn't go any further, so we headed back. Funny thing was that along the way we actually found one of the trails we could have taken had we known. Oh well, I think ours was funner.
Tuesday night came and went, and another delicious meal of hot dogs and mac and cheese, a great combination. We played more Nertz, and sorry to say I actually won again. It was a little closer in score this time, but the other two just didn't have a chance really.
Wednesday came along and instead of trying to walk, we drove up to the watering hole. At least as close as we could get. Then it was just a little walking. Nice and calm. Ahh. A few minutes after we had gotten back the rest of our friends showed up ready to enjoy the camping too. It was a little bit of a tight squeeze, but we fit another tent in our small little camp sight. Tada! That night we played a different game not one I was used to, but it was still fun. Although winning doesn't make things fun. It might just make things better.
Camping was lots of fun, and since it has been years since I've camped, I'm glad I got to. Not every tradition of camping that I was used to was there, but the camping experience was, and for that I'm glad.
