Then there was Camping

Sunday we hiked, then the next day we, or me and some friends went camping. Not as far as where I've camped in the past, but far enough away where there was no cell reception and you were required to sleep some what in the dirt. We went to Memorial Park outside of Pescadero and camped there for five days and four nights.
I had been here a few times when my mom did day care and took the little kids here for a day trip, but I've never camped here. It was a nice experience.
The first day was somewhat of a long day since we had such a late start that it was almost as if we got there set up and then immediately started dinner. I think the hardest thing was that we were only gonna bring one car for the first couple days which meant that three people and enough food, clothing, and camping gear for three people was going to have to fit into one car. I guess the good thing was that we had a car carrier, which meant quite a few stuff went up top.

We made it there safe and had a nice little night. We had burgers and potato salad for dinner which was pretty good if I do say so myself.
Night came around and we had a big fire roaring and roasted marshmallows. We also played what they call demon, but what most people in my family call Nertz. Usually when we were camping with family it was Hearts at night, but even I am not that good at playing, and it usually requires 4 people (I think...) but Nertz is just a lot more fun. We were all decent players at the game, but based on the score I think its obvious who is a little more experienced. Not really.
Sorry to the boys, but I think I'm just a little bit better at playing this game then you are. We were playing to 200, and even based on this picture its a little obvious that I was kicking butt in this game. I didn't get the entire score for the last round in which I passed the 200 mark, but the second to last game scored were Seth: 122, Sean: 110, and Me: 189. Oops!

Haha way to rock that nertz, Carrie!! Maybe I should come camping with you next time, cuz I have been seriously nertz deprived lately. Looks like good times all around :)

It was some good times. I might want to get in a little more practice before playing you at Nertz though, if I remember correctly you are a little to speedy for me. But I think I'm with you in the whole being deprived of playing nertz. It's been quite a while since I've played as well, and wish I could play a little more often.
