Day One Disneyland
It started off with an early morning, and a plane ride. We had an easy flight and arrived on time, no bags for us to get since we brought them on with us, and now we just had to wait for our bus. It was a pretty long bus ride to the hotel, on the freeway, and there were a few other hotels that he stopped at before ours. Finally we got to the hotel, but we couldn't do much. We got there about 12 I guess, but hotel check in wasn't until 3, lucky for us the hotel was nice enough to hold our luggage, so that we could go to the park. Yay!
I was so excited to be headed to Disneyland. Haven't been there in forever, and all this excitement and build up. Reality finally hit when we got there. DISNEYLAND!
First ride, I guess you would call it that was Star Tours. What I heard is that you can go to the shows so many times in a day or in your visit and never see the same thing. I'm not sure if that's right or not, but I'd say get a fast pass. The line for this is extremely long, I think we waited at least an hour. I think one thing mom said the whole time we were there is that we had such long lines to wait in, and yet the rides were short. But I guess you can't get fast passes for everything, and just need to know what rides to get on when to avoid those lines.
We were flying through space and getting attacked by some sort of blasters, of course with the assist of C3po and R2D2 we found our way fine.
We did a little walking around some after that. Disneyland is a big place, and you could get lost. I know I did last time I went, that was also because I didn't have a map, but this time we got a map when we entered. Since it was close by we went into innovations. Showed us what things would be like in the future, flying cars like the Jetsons and there were stations that would show you what you would look like as you got older, just all sorts of things really.
We passed by the Finding Nemo submarine ride, but the line for that was pretty long, and after waiting for star tours I think we were looking for something with a little shorter wait. Off to Fantasy Land. It's a small world wasn't that long of a wait, and gave our feet some time to relax. Mom said it was nice to have a ride like that, on a hot day you could go, sit down and cool off some while you enjoy the ride. The only problem with it is I think once you ride it, the song gets stuck in your head.

It's a small world after all.
Then we stopped by and saw that there was a Princess Fantasy Faire. You could go in and meet princesses, get all dressed up like a Princess and get your hair done as well as Storytelling and face painting. Next to that was Toontown. We got in there and went on Roger Rabbit's car toon spin. It was the longest wait ever! You walk in thinking that it was just super short, but oh were we mistaken. We saw some people with fast passes for it and thought that it was ridiculous since the line looked so short. No! Every turn led to another hallway or a this or a that. I think the wait for this was longer then the wait for Star Tours, but that one was actually worth it. This one really wasn't. I just felt bad for the little girl that was in line in front of us with her mom and dad, she looked so scared, I remember her saying "this is supposed to be Disneyland, not scaryland," poor little girl.

I think after that ride we were done with toontown. At least mom was, the line for the ride was ridiculously long, and we didn't want to deal with that again. Back down main street and we bought some drinks. It was a hot day, long lines, we needed something cool to drink. There were also little treats and snacks, a five dollar cupcake that had some crazy designs, and this cookie that looked like Mickey Mouse.
It was now after three and we could check into the hotel, so as we were headed back out we saw the lowering of the flags, there was a quartet singing, and they lowered and folded the flags. Then we were on our way out. We had bus tickets that came with the packet we bought, and we wanted to figure out how to use them even though we could have walked back to the hotel. We had bus number three, and I guess lucky for us our hotel was the first stop. We checked in the hotel, got settled, and went to relax some. The hotel had a pool, and since our feet were a little achy we cooled our feet off some. Once we had dried off we decided to go explore the town a little. There was something called the Garden Walk that was pretty close by and so we went to check it out. There were shops and restaurants and even a Chocolate Factory store, yum! Mom of course said we had to eat dinner first. We had dinner at Johnny Rockets and enjoyed the good food.
Even the castle lit up, but of course why wouldn't it? We got to see an amazing firework show with Tinkerbell flying over the castle, everyone in a crowd in all along main street up until the castle. There were places roped off so that if there were people who didn't want to see it they could keep walking and be out of other people's way.
After the fireworks we got on some more rides. I'd say one of our usual rides when we went as a family was always the tea cups. I remember my dad spinning us around so fast, and it was lots of fun. This time though, it was just me and mom, and so it was up to us to spin as fast as we could, of course I don't think my mom wanted to go to fast. I think with the combination of our spinning I got pretty dizzy, took me a little bit before I could walk straight again.
Once I could walk straight we went for a few more rides. There was Pirates of the Caribbean which didn't have a long line, what a win. It almost seemed like we were ride hopping, from one ride to the next, once that was over we went and rode the Winnie the Pooh ride. It was so cute, except for the scary Heffalumps and Woozles in Pooh's dream.
Our last ride of the night was Indiana Jones. Neither mom nor I knew what to expect. When I went with Choir this was one of the rides I didn't go on, and when we went as a family years ago I think this was one of the few rides I couldn't go on because I was to short, so mom and I (as well as Tanya according to dad) waited and I guess went on a different ride while Joliene and Dad had gone on that one. This one was a first for both mom and I, so it was pretty interesting.

When we were done we headed back to Disneyland. The park looks totally different at night then during the day. All of the stores light up and main street lights up. It just looks magical.

The park I guess officially closed at midnight, but I guess had to wait for everyone to finish up with the rides before closing down. I think we got out of there a little after midnight, and found out that the last bus to come and pick us up was at 12:30am. We had a really long day, and oh boy we were in need of some sleep and to let our feet and legs have some time to relax.
