I got a new phone!

I know it isn't anything super exciting or big or really a reason to write a blog about it, but if you knew that my phone was really old and I was paying way to much for it, you will understand why I am so happy.

Okay so the phone I just got rid of was the first cell phone I had ever gotten.  When I got the phone its main use was just phone calls I didn't really do that much texting so I paid for minimal texting and had a decent phone bill for what it was worth.  Then as my mom likes to say, I started dating. The 200 text messages per month wasn't going to do it for me anymore.  So I went online and changed the plan to have unlimited texting.  Sounds good right? Well, not really.  I don't have any problem with paying a little more to have a phone that provides for my needs, but when I'm paying about as much as someone who has wireless capability to their phone for my phone I feel a little cheated. I mean wouldn't you?
Here is the phone I'd had since October of 2009.  Like I said it wasn't a bad phone, it did what I needed it to do and if I happened to drop it, it didn't break it just had a little mark in it.
.
After talking away with my mother and her many visits to the At&t store for many reasons she asked if it would be smarter to be put on a plan together.  I mean paying for a phone that can just call and text for um lets say $70 a month isn't the best deal in the world, and in some terms I'd like to have the freedom of internet on my phone or help getting directions for one of those days I go on a wild drive and get lost.  Having something more then just a call would come in handy.  I mean that was the point of the phone in the first place, so that if there was some sort of distress I could pick up my phone and call one of my parents for help.  Now though they won't come running if I'm at school or somewhere in the midst of school and home.  I could still call to get an idea of help, but they aren't going to be close enough to help in that sense.

Okay, that may have been a little bit of a tangent.
Back to what I was saying.  It would be helpful to have a phone with a little more gadgets to go with it.  And while I was home over the past weekend it happened.  We went in, were put together on a plan, and I got a brand new (at least to me) smart phone.  It isn't the latest version of anything, but now my phone is worth what I'm paying a month, and I'm hoping when the phone bill finally comes I will say that the fact is true.  But for now, I'm happy.  I got a new phone that is a little smarter and a little easier to handle.
Woot!
