Am I really blogging about my cats?
Yes. No. Sort of.
Its more of a "you wouldn't imagine how much I missed my cats and the school housing doesn't allow pets" kind of blog.
So in advance I am sorry.
Where to start is the next thing. I missed them. My actions at school if you were observing may have been a little strange. I was hesitant at leaving food sitting around as I walked away to get something I forgot or to get a drink. Why? My cats would come attacking my food (mainly Harley) and it would be devoured by the time I would return. My mom has learned that if you walk away from anything you take out of the toaster and leave it sitting around, the cat will start eating it.
**A morning or so after I came home for break my mom saw me eating eggs and toast and to my right was Harley waiting for toast to drop. My mom said "she isn't there because she loves you, its just because she wants the toast"
Our cats are strange. One knows the sound of the toaster, and the other knows the sound of cereal being poured into a bowl (and will come for the milk afterwards).
There have been times that I wake up in the morning and there is a trail of toys, or even a pile of toys sitting in front of my bedroom door. Its not like I locked out the cats during the night but they would want to play while I was asleep.
The morning is a different story. If they are crawling on my head, meowing in my face or walking all over, yes I'm gonna lock them out and try and get a little more sleep. It may just be an hour sleep but I want that sleep!
The reason they don't get locked out is because they like the warmth, comfort, and the company. I will admit, I like them too.
I missed them walking into closets, and accidentally getting themselves locked in there or in someones room or in a cabinet where they may or may not be able to get themselves out of. Oh my cats. They are so cute!
And now that I am back at school I miss them even more. Their comfort. The fact that sometimes when I wake up there is a cat sleeping on me, or next to me. I miss watching them, just because even how they act is pretty funny.
Yes cats, cats CATS! I swear I'm not a crazy cat lady.
I can't be blamed. I've lived with my cats for what, 7 years or so... I got attached. You can't blame me. Both of my sisters live with cats. You think that's just a coincidence? NOPE! We get attached, we see a cat and fall in love, we are cat people.
Being deprived of my cats, whether its school restrictions or the fact that I doubt my dad would let me leave with a cat, isn't fair.
Now comes the part where school doesn't allow pets. Except for certain exceptions including hiding the pet (which is somewhat hard to do and something I wouldn't recommend) and our Faculty in Residence. There is one professor who lives on campus in the dorms by himself, sort of. He does have a little cat that every so often you could see at his window looking outside. I'm sure there are times where you can come in and visit, but to visit just to see the cat might be pushing it.
I could always dream of having a cat in the dorm. I do understand that people are allergic and some people just don't like cats/dogs/pets, but I still miss my cats when I'm gone from home.
