I am From Poem

After going through many, boxes when we were preparing for the garage sale I came across old school work. One poem, this poem I wrote Freshman year of high school during our poetry section.

I am From

I am from borrowed candles
and old alarm clocks.
I am from screws on the floor
and pictures of the new house.
I am from chewing gum and a
little toy mouse.

I am from broken fences
and a small cactus.
I am from clothes pins scattered
on the ground.
I am from logan berry bushes
and window stickers.

I am from photos of family
I don't see often enough and important
stuffed animals.
I am from special games and
journal writing.
I am from videos of events and
special clothes.
I am from scrapbooking fun.

I am from the smell of a
new day,
delightful scented candles.
I am from the sent of fresh
poured cat food.
Smelling the delightful dinner
being cooked.

My teacher had asked us to attach things that were part of this poem and part of what we come from. There was a screw stuck to it, but I guess being 6 years old it fell out. There is real caution tape on it, a gum wrapper, a picture of a cat, and an oven. Something else was stuck to it, but I'm not sure what it was. This poem is, what I am from.
