Breaking News: Hillsdale High School Attacked

On the Morning of Monday the 24th of August a 17 year old boy walked into Hillsdale High School with 10 homemade pipe bombs, a chainsaw and a sword. He arrived at around 8:00 am a little after his arrival the first of his pipe bombs went off just down this hallway. A second bomb went off moments later.

The news was spreading fast, after the first one went off, a few teachers looked outside and noticed the boy standing there, advised students to get under their desks, locked the doors, and called the Principal. One of the pipe bombs smoke set off the school fire alarm, for teachers on the other side of school, they just believed that it was a prank fire alarm. They asked students to leave their stuff, and walk outside, it wasn't until students came running out did those teachers realize that it was much more serious.

This boy in question had a few targets planned and was planning on killing or harming as many of the students as possible. One teacher who did not know the boy had asked him to run, this teacher just believed the boy was a student at Hillsdale. When the boy did not move this brave teacher went up to this 17-year old and ran up to him not knowing that he had 8 more bombs strapped to his vest. The teacher grabbed hold of the boys arms and held him so that he could not be attacked while they waited.

Moments later the Principal of Hillsdale High School and one other Staff member came over to this teacher who was holding down this dangerous boy and helped hold him down and make sure that he would not get away. The San Mateo Police Department was called and notified of what was going on down at school. The teachers held the 17 year-old boy until the police arrived, while every one else at the School was headed toward Abbot Middle School, just a few blocks away.

The 17-year-old boy had planned this attack for months, he had told his mom that what he was doing was for a school project. He had also influenced her to drive him close to Hillsdale, he made her believe that he was visiting a friend. The Chainsaw he had was hidden in a hollowed out guitar case. Police officers searched his home later that day and found more bomb making materials. There is also news that he had planned to use door stops to lock students and teachers in so that they could not escape.

Hillsdale High School was closed the rest of Monday and all of Tuesday to make repairs and search the rest of the school. Luckily the 17-year-old was unable to start the chainsaw which was his main point of danger. And luckily for the school NO ONE was hurt in this time of danger! They were so lucky to have the bravery and be very aware of what was going on.
