The A's Game

Well maybe I should call it the Yankee's game, since technically my friend who invited me to the game was going because he is a Yankee's fan, but we were at the Oakland Coliseum.  It was my first time at the Coliseum and technically my first time not rooting for the home team, since I have been to numerous Giants games, and all the time been rooting for them, and known most of the players on the team.
This was a new experience in all because I knew about one player on the A's team, and I've heard a few names from the New York Yankee's teams, but I'm pretty sure only one or two of them were playing that night.
The person who had invited me actually got some pretty awesome seats. I mean most of the other games I had gone to I went for the cheap seats, and so sitting 25 rows from the field this time was a new experience for me.  Could definitely see a lot more, and I'm sure that was partially the point.  He is a big Derek Jeter fan, so being able to watch him, especially since it is Jeter's last year playing baseball.

The one down side to the night was in the middle of the 5th or 6th inning, when the sun was going down, there was a 40 minute delay in which about the first 15 minutes us sitting in the stands didn't know why there was a delay, finally a quick announcement of what was going on and 20 minutes later the lights finally went on.  Technically they could have played the rest of the inning but I'm guessing coaches wouldn't have appreciated it.
Well, I guess the other downside was that the Yankee's lost.  It was decided that the power outage was to blame for their loss, I mean the day before they won 7-0, and they weren't exactly creamed the day we went, but I'm sure it would have been a better day had they won.
That night was actually a lot of fun despite their loss, and it was nice to have an adventure.
