Thanksgiving Breakfast in July
I remember each year, getting an invitation to the Grandkids breakfast hosted by Gram and Gramp. I remember each year wanting to go and have that Thanksgiving breakfast and begging my parents to let us go. Of course there was always an excuse of it was to short a time or what about school. It just never worked out.
The summer of 2004 we had gone to visit Gram and Gramp, and go camping. It was when we had come back from camping and returned to Gram and Gramps house that one morning there was a surprise. It was Thanksgiving! It was the Thanksgiving Breakfast morning that we had never gotten to be a part of because of living so far away.
It was just what the invitations had said, although I don't think we got invitations this time. It was a kids only breakfast (and Gram and Gramp), the Shirley girls had come over and we stuffed our faces with pancakes, sausage casserole, and all sorts of yummy food.

Each person was creative in their own way. I think we all did our own thing, but also took bits and pieces from what we saw others doing. There was cutting, gluing, sticking, searching, finding, and placing. Some good socialization and good family time.

I guess you could say that it was Bear themed. I think while we were in Wyoming Grammie had picked up a few bears (or a lot). Each of us had a little finger puppet bear at our seat when we came to eat, and there might have been a big bear in the middle of the table.
Once we were all done, there was a little craft project for us to do outside. It was a little memory book (?), maybe it was a thankful book. We each got to decorate one of our own. It was a little brown book with a big tan bear (like the shape of a grizzly) and a little string with a circle coming from the top with a little bear inside. Everyone got to make their own, put their own personality in it and onto it.

It was a special treat, and I'm so glad that we got to be a part of it (even if it wasn't really Thanksgiving)
