Saturday

Today everyone got up early to go view the island. My mom had out her Maui book to tell us what we would see as we walk and as we drive. We stopped a few times to look at the pretty ocean. There were pictures taken and long hikes. Sorry to say that no one with a camera brought the extra cord to connect the camera to computer to get the pictures up so until I am back home there is a lack of pictures on the page.

We stopped and saw blow holes where the water would push through as the waves came and go through a hole in the ground. While we stopped my dad got a little wet when the wave came, everyone was laughing. The book had mentioned that as we drive there could e visits from donkeys who would like to push their face against the window and cows standing in the middle of the road. There were no donkeys that we saw but there were a few goats and big dogs (Cows) that seem to show up every time there is a family vacation. There were narrow roads and a few times we had to back up to let some cars past us.

Even driving there was beautiful scenery and a waterfall. We passed a town that is said to sell the best banana bread in the world. Tanya disagreed, even though we didn't have a bite I think she knew wanted the banana bread my mom makes to be the best.

Then we went back to Lahina and had lunch and did a little more shopping. On our ride back to the condo Joliene was falling asleep and so when we got there she went right to bed. It was a little early for all of us I guess, maybe too early for some more then others. I'm still up and so is Tanya. She might be waiting for the Turtles now that her camera battery is charged. We saw a little one when we were out but it kept disappearing. She will be more successful here.
