The Lunar Chronicles
So my roommate, friend, and Student Blogger, Tamara introduced me to The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. She is as much of a Disney fan as I am, and was telling me these books are a mixture of sci-fi/fantasy with a Disney essence to it.
In December I bought a couple of them, and got one for Christmas. Basically read one book a day they were that good in my mind. Except I had two more to go, and had to wait before reading the rest of them.
Book 1: Linh Cinder is a 16-year-old Cyborg living with her adoptive mom and two daughters, repairing things and earning money for the family. When one of her sisters gets infected by the plague, Cinder handed over for testing and learns there is something special about her.
Book 2: Scarlet helps run her grandmother's garden delivering food around Paris, when she meets a young man named Wolf, who ends up being a genetically modified beast. Wolf and his pack are in search of information that Scarlet's grandmother has, and will torture anyone to get it.
Book 3: Poor sweet little Cress was taken from her parents when she was born because she was a shell, and did not contain the lunar gift. Cress lives in a satellite all by herself, hiding ships and doing all sorts of computer coding for the Lunar Queen.
Book 4: The start of it all, well maybe. Who is the Fairest of them all? We learn what happened to the queen when she was young, and how the plague was created so that Earth and Lunar could join together and be one.
Book 5: We learn more about Princess Winter, that she isn't the mean awful person her step mother is, and how she chooses not to use her gift which ends up making her a little crazy. The queen orders a guard to kill Princess Winter, but make sure no one knows.
Obviously a lot more happens in all of these books, I just hope maybe I have at least one person interested, or even to go check out and get a slightly better synopsis of the book. I mean they are that good if you are into that kind of thing.
