The Zoo
So my friends back at school were tired of the 100+ degree heat and wanted to cool down some. Because the bay area is at least 15-20 degrees cooler, and when you head to foggy San Francisco it is even cooler. I'm not sure what made my friends decide on the zoo, but hey I probably haven't been there in at least 10 years so I'm sure it was needed.
We met at the Bart Station suggested because neither of us wanted to drive in San Francisco, and public transportation was the best way to go in that situation.
What can I say it was the zoo. We made it there just in time, and kind of ended up rushing a bit, since the lady at the ticket counter said going through the zoo would take about two and a half hours, and well we were just barely making by 2:30.
The first thing you see, without even handing them your ticket is the giraffe, and zebra. Okay, so you are a decent distance away, but it gives you a sneak peek at what you're going in to see.
And sorry guys, trying to put a picture of every single animal we saw at the zoo would make this a very long blog, so I'm not going to do that. Instead I'm going to jump around a little from continent to continent, because if I remember correctly that's how the map was laid out.
We got to see the penguins, which was pretty cool, we were even able to see some of them during the feeding time.
There were two otters, and the first time we stopped by they were both hiding/sleeping. One of them was in this little hide away. Can you see him? Pretty sure it was hard enough for me to see him so I don't blame you if you can't.
The peacocks were kind of just roaming around the zoo everywhere. Some were in exhibits, but that might have been their own choosing.
There were polar bears, tigers, lions, anteaters, and seals. Seals are cute, and like to talk.
Kangaroos, too. My friends and I had a short discussion on how they can't hop backwards. Some random fact I got from a comedian, but someone else knew why they couldn't and its because of their tails.
There were also some wallaroos and wallaby in there with them. Couldn't tell you the difference between them, maybe the color, shape of their ears, or their size.
This picture was a whole lot harder to take then you would think. Just slightly uncomfortable, trying to take it and be perfectly fit, was just impossible hence the awkward sitting I'm doing.
The last of it, or maybe the first depending on where you go would be the flamingos, and the gift shop. Of course my friends wanted some kind of souvenirs to show for their adventure.
Super fun day out, and totally worth the crazy uber rides and hopping of bart trains to get back home.
