Humans V. Zombies
Housing just started their 3rd annual Humans vs. Zombies month long event. This was my first year I was interested and was able to participate. After listening to all of the rules and such my roommate and I decided it would be fun. Everyone starts out as a humans and there is one original zombie.
Everyone participating in the game is marked with a band, orange for human and green for zombie, except the original zombie who is not supposed to be known and wears an orange band and has a special ID card. Each zombie must "eat"/tag at least one human a day and report it, otherwise they are out. Each zombie and human had to check into the housing office once a day or they are out of the game. The goal of the game was to be the last human standing, or kill off all of the zombies. There were safe zones, like no one was allowed to be tagged while in class or in a building on campus, being under a balcony/overhang in the dorms was also a safe zone marked by yellow tape. Humans were allowed to use clean socks to stun zombies for 15 minutes, enough to get away (and recollect your socks).
The event starts October 1st, and is planned to go until the 30th, but that depends on surviving humans, and the starvation of zombies. The thing is no one playing is sure how many people are participating. Yes there is a sign in sheet, but I'm sure its a couple pages long (and hopefully not numbered) and as each day goes by participants may drop out, or quit so one day there could be 40 people the next day there could be 25. And its not like everyone who went to the informational meeting decided to play, there was an extension on joining so that if you missed the meeting you could still join before the game started if you wanted.
Instead of a big summary at the end (as I had planned) I've decided to make a little journal entries to document daily activity. I started it on the first day while I was waiting for my friends and thought it would be smart to just keep it going during the course of everything.
Here goes nothing, wish me luck!
