Humans V. Zombies: *Disclaimer
Here are a few things I didn't mention...
We heard the rules, the ones that said you have to check in every day. As in, you couldn't go home on the weekends. Some people walked out after hearing that, and it somewhat crushed my spirit too. I mean couldn't it have waited until like the 6th to start so that I could go home and visit my family for my birthday? Come on, really?
I still decided to play. Maybe there was a chance my roommate could check in for me? No we found out on the first day that they require your student ID when you check in so things like that don't happen. Dang!
It was still a fun opportunity, and if I couldn't have her sign in for me, but I could still make it to Friday without turning into a zombie I would be happy. Yes I would be out of the game come Saturday night, but at least I would have participated, and experienced it.
So obviously I went for it.
This was a game of HONORS, as in no hiding your band when you are out in public so you don't get tagged going to and from places. That means if you are wearing a jacket, the band goes over the jacket. I may have mentioned that little discrepancy of what having the band on your arm meant. Obviously I wasn't happy with it being around someones wrist where it could be confused and mistaken for something else, while I had it on my arm near my sleeve. Grumble, grumble, grumble. What can you do the game has already started.
By the middle of day two my roommate had gotten tagged. She was annoyed, and I would be too, because she was tagged by the original zombie (the one that looks like a human) except that he was holding his band instead of wearing it. Would that be considered cheating, I'm not sure. The zombie had argued that a) he couldn't wear it because of his jacket (for that look at the paragraph above) b) as the original zombie he isn't required to wear it but hello, it needs to be on you some how visible so that we know who is playing (also look at above paragraph). I mean the original zombie must have some type of identifier besides his ID card or else we wouldn't see it coming, we would be throwing socks at every and anyone.
As she found out who the original zombie was, it made it slightly easier for me, so I know who to avoid. The other thing that may possibly be annoying is that the original zombie chosen was an RA. I mean that is fun and all, but it also seems rigged (or maybe thats just me). I mean anyone who wanted to be the original zombie got to write their name down at this informational meeting and we were told that the name was going to be picked from a hat at random. How random is it to you with only 2 RA's playing and at least 30 other residents playing that an RA's name would have been picked? Okay yes the list of original zombie sign ups may have been only 10 or so, which make the odds slightly better but still. Had it not been an RA it might have ended up being a little funner.
