What?
Picture this: Walking out of a classroom, seeing people sitting on the floor most likely discussion homework or an assignment of some sort. You then hear someone say, "oh its easy just put 4(pi) squared and its 9.8". Now it only took a second or two for my roommate and I to do a double take. That doesn't make sense in any form or way. Squaring pi (3.1415....) is close to 9.5 so how is it that if you multiply by 4 it makes it even remotely close to that number. We were trying to figure it out on our way back to our rooms.
Nope. Not solving for the volume of some sort of shape. That would be 3/4 or 4/3, but even then I don't think it would get anywhere close to 9.8. How. How? We must have missed something, but we just couldn't figure it out.
