8 Miles to Pancake Day
I'm sorry, but
a) that's just hilarious and
b) literally what the tour for Steely Dan was called.
8 Miles to Pancake Day.
They were performing at the America's Cup Pavilion.
Now I think before mention I've never heard of Steely Dan, there is a possibility that I might have heard them on the radio or something my dad has in his collection of music, but the name just wasn't familiar to me.
I went to the concert with a friend and his father, who are both big fans (obviously).
The scenery there was amazing. I mean the concert was somewhere past Pier 23 in San Francisco but what the exact cross street is I couldn't tell you. I can say that we had a nice view of Coit tower (which you will see in a couple of these pictures), the bay, some pyramid tower thingy ?, all from the comfort of our seats for the concert. Well, actually the bay was a little behind us, but walking along it to get to our destination was amazing enough. I went to the concert with a friend and his father, who are both big fans (obviously).
We weren't actually allowed to take pictures while the concert was going on because it interfered with speakers and electronics of such (which was a bummer) and even using a phone (camera or otherwise) was also looked down upon. They actually had people making sure no one was doing it, or they would walk up to them and ask them to stop. It was SERIOUS!
And even though I didn't get a lot of pictures, it was an amazing concert. I learned of a new band. And might have gone a little deaf. I mean they were loud. We left right before the encore, and maybe that was intentionally loud, but while we were walking back it could be heard a decent half mile or so away I would think.
It was nice to walk back though because the Bay Bridge was beautifully lit up.
I heard, (not sure if its true) but they light it up, or have the lights doing different things each night, no two nights are the same. This night they were all trickley like water droplets or something.
But seeing the lights on the bridge and then reflecting off of the bay as well, I wish I could have just stayed there and enjoyed that all night. Ahh, the City by the Bay
