The Curls that I hate
I was born with a curly head of hair. The only thing is I kind of wish I wasn't. I find the curls that I have are annoying and some a little awkward. I mean I have one curl that is part of my bangs that just looks awkward and I really wish it wasn't there. I always thought my curls were a hassle. I mean they aren't curls (to me) that look appealing, to me they just seem like a web of a mess that takes to long to deal with.
Straight hair just seems easier to handle and control. It isn't all over the place or crazy looking. If my curly hair didn't look like a tangled mess I think I'd be okay with it, but since it isn't to me my curly hair is just a pain. Every morning (or almost every morning) I get up and straighten my hair. Yes it is time consuming, but it also means I won't be messing with my hair as much, that I don't have to hassle with it trying to put it up or get it stuck in my pony tail when trying to take it down. Straight hair just seems a little more convenient to me.
The strange thing was that about a month ago for my cousins wedding I wanted to add some curls to my hair. I actually wanted to do something a little different with it, I wanted the curls, but only a few. Because in the end it seemed that we were scrambling for time and running late that didn't happen, my hair was straight.
A few weeks later I had some a few minutes to experiment with trying to curl my hair before heading to school, they came out okay, but died pretty quickly (I didn't really put anything in my hair to make it stick). The next day I had plenty of time to experiment a little more and figure out what I had done the day before (its amazing what you can forget in 24 hours).
The one thing I realized in doing this is that who ever said it was right, I have a thick head of hair. So I ended up doing it a little bit in layers because trying to do it all at once wasn't working out for me. I like what I ended up with even though the two sides don't really seem to go together.
