Day 3: My Snow day

I think I might have been in between a dream and waking up just thinking. Then mom came down stairs and I heard.."Its snowing.." My eyes popped open and I jumped out of bed. SNOWING! I could not believe what I was hearing. Of course I ran upstairs and had to see it myself! I wanted to run outside and just stand in it and play in it, but thought it was smarter to oh get dressed first and all that other stuff.
Remember how I said my dad was saying that the snow was going to be gone and that I should go out while I had the chance? Well, this was a laugh in his face. "What were you saying dad?" the best feeling ever. It had been so long since I had seen snow, well besides the day before and on the mountains but I mean up close and near. It had been so long since I had seen it snowing. Eeep! SNOW!!!

Of course I had just waken up so I needed to warm up a bit. Actually we were doing a million other things. Mom and dad brought up the griddle and we made pancakes. Sorry Gram you don't get to eat them. :(
We were low on milk and so dad had to go out in the snow and get milk, we made a double batch, and barely had one cup of milk left. When dad came back besides the milk he also brought in some snow off the car. It was very much cold, and mom thought she was being funny, tried to put it down Tanya's shirt, but Tanya got her right back. Sorry mom you had what was coming. Yum Pancakes, nice and warm.

While Tanya and I were upstairs making Pancakes, mom and dad were downstairs ironing the whites and the flag.

After all of the delicious eating, other things needed to be done. All those important things such as hygiene and cleaning up after breakfast.
Okay, okay, so I finally went outside! Sorry too excited about the snow not to. SNOW!!!

Today was allowed to be Grams day down since the next day she was going to be up and moving all over and just so busy. We were planning on cleaning and doing homework while Gram and dad went out to dress Gramp, but after the conversation that happened the day before it seemed that dad was not allowed to do so. Instead they stayed here at Grams. Instead the Allertons came to pick up his things. Other things happened instead.

I went down stairs and started doing homework, that part of it didn't change, or at least not right away. Joliene also came downstairs, but she was doing some reading. Then I heard part of a conversation that was happening upstairs. I heard mom say to Tanya something about going with Gram to her room and watch NCIS. Sorry, but I was so there. Sorry Tanya, but you have another week with Gram, and I wanted to spend some time with Gram too.
So upstairs I went and we all went to Grams room to watch NCIS season 7. It took about 10-20 minutes to get situated (maybe less), but we all figured out how to fit on Grams bed without smooshing anyone. Tanya, Gram and I were all on the bed trying to stay warm. Maybe a little after the first episode and Gram was out. Good plan right? Well, I think so, let her sleep and rest.
During this time Mom and Dad went out to get the dry cleaning and pick up Dad's suit. He had got the phone call early in the morning when we were making breakfast that it was ready early, but he wanted to go back to the same guy who had sized him the day before. They also came back with a few newspapers that had Gramps Obituary in it.
Soon later after Episode 2 maybe mid episode 3 the phone started ringing and so was the door bell. We knew one thing, tonight's dinner was going to be lasagna. Mmm. Someone came over with cinnamon rolls, and someone else came with brownies. Again, yum!
Of course I snuck out again and went for the snow. Walked in it, touched it, and I was a little bit in the mood to make a snowman. My one problem was that I wasn't sure where to start. Sounds funny right? It had been so long that it was like what do I do? Instead I just played with the snow a little. That gave me what I wanted some fun and some snow.
Dinner was 3 dishes of Lasagna. Not all from the same people and there was one with no meat, of course we didn't know that until we started eating and Joliene had already known she was going to have something else, and was already making it. Better to be safe then sorry I think. Like I said, lots of food, which meant we needed lots of people.

Food, food, food. And that wasn't the end of it. This was Tuesday, the funeral and everything were tomorrow. There was lots to do! There was Grandchildren's memories, setting the programs, the photos and collecting everything for the set up and display. All of this takes a lot of time. This was a long day, and I'm not kidding.

Well, it wasn't as long as the day to come, but it was still long. So many things to do, and not enough time in the day. How many hours of sleep did everyone get? I'm guessing an average of about 5, and no I'm not kidding. Saying good bye is going to be the hardest thing to do tomorrow, we love you Grampie! ♥
