Utah Day 2
Let me tell you now, I usually have to work Monday mornings. I get up at 4:30 to be at work by 6:00 am. This is a break from work, I wake up wondering what time it is and maybe 10-20 minutes later the alarm on my ipod goes off. Okay, I knew what time it was then. Just a little to early. The only problem was that I couldn't go back to sleep. I was in the room with Joliene and then noticed my mom was sleeping on the cushions on the floor. I didn't want to make any noise and wake them up, and I knew that if I walked upstairs I was going to wake someone else up. So I pulled out my ipod and just decided to listen to some music. It was the only smart thing to do.
I had watched a video or two before I heard any noise. I heard something upstairs, but I didn't want to get up to see if I was hearing things or not. So I still just sat there. I was moving around, not very adjusted to sleeping on a couch, and I was a little cold. Sleeping on a sheet under one little cover in a state unlike California where in these months it tends to be cold, yeah, well I was definitely cold.
I just waited. I finally saw dad get up and go upstairs. I was still a little unsure if I should come up or not, but I guess it was okay, because dad came back down stairs and said it would be better for me to be upstairs so that everyone else could sleep. Slowly, slowly, slowly everyone else started to get up as well. Looking outside, dad knew how I had wanted to see the snow and play in it so badly. He kept saying that I should go out and make a snow man because the snow wasn't going to last and melt away.

The next important thing was, what was for breakfast. I am probably the only one in the family that eats breakfast on a daily basis, that consists more then a chewy bar. Since I had been up for a while my stomach was asking for food desperately. Looked in Grammie's stock of cereal and have to say there was plenty of sweet stuff but chex was fine for me.
The day started a little slow. Mom and dad had to head back to Men's Warehouse so that dad could have a suit (which was necessary) and drop off Jolienes clothes so they could be dry cleaned. We were also waiting for the Allertons to arrive. They hadn't shown up during the middle of the night, so it was just a matter of time.
While we waited I figured it was smart to check my email on Grams computer. Of course I was having some problems logging on. She had told me the day before and I thought I had it down. Apparently I was wrong. It didn't want to work, I came and asked Gram again, and it was what she had said before but something was missing or different. Hmm. Joliene even came in and tried to see if it would work. I'm thinking no. Spelt it the way she had said, that didn't work it was all lower caps, but still didn't work, so Joliene tried Caps lock, that didn't work either. Apparently Gram had the magic touch. One try and she got on. Thanks Gram! :)
It was when Gram and I were searching for directions to the Cemetery the the Allertons had finally arrived. Tanya greeted them, because I guess she was just coming from upstairs. It was a big Hello there Strangers. Since for us it had been years since we'd seen the Allertons. I do mean years, I don't even think we had met Corinne yet, that is how long it has been. We started talking a little and found out that Colton and Jen were coming in around 4 pm and had a flight instead of driving which we thought at first.
Just a while later dad and mom came back from all their errands. They had stopped at the grocery store after suit shopping because we were in need of a few things like milk and well, other food. I know that both dad and Joi were so happy to see each other. Brother and sister who like I said, hadn't seen each other in years. It was something that was good. I think they were both crying when they gave each other a hug.

It was nice to catch up some before the Allertons went to the Shirley's to get cleaned up and get a little sleep before going to get Colton and Jen from the airport. A little after they went Gram, Tanya and I headed back to the store. Dad and mom had done some shopping but Gram still had her list, and there were a few things that had slipped their minds or they thought they were at Grams somewhere. They guessed wrong.
Off to Maceys we went! Shopping, shopping, shopping. Not very exciting, but at least we got out of the house for a bit. Came back with a boat load of stuff, crackers, cookies, and just more and more stuff. And this wasn't even the night we were making dinner. Dinner was being brought by some people in Grams church.
I have to say there was a lot of food. We needed the whole clan to come over and eat. There was no way that six people could have eaten all that food. Even with all of the people that we had there was still left overs. There was so much food. We had some type of casserole, a salad, rolls, and Joliene made tofu stir fry, and I believe there was something else, just can't remember.
Of course by dinner time the rest of the Allertons had arrived and everyone was at Grams. It took a while though. A lot of people and not enough room is what I have to say. It was no doubt a full house. We sort of ate in shifts. And people ate about everywhere. Surrounded the table, which we had expanded earlier that day, there were a couple people eating at the bar across from the food and then a few people ate down stairs as well. We got to catch up some more and chat about this and that. It was a pretty good night, and because most everyone had some early morning things to do it wasn't to late. We were visiting, but there may have been school or work for others.
The next day would be a different story, and a long one at that. This time though, I think we California people were a little smarter when it came to keeping warm while we sleep. I think we all took at least another blanket of some sort so that we would be warm. We so weren't used to it being so cold.
