You are what you eat
You are what you eat. That is, in short terms what my latest English paper was about.
After a week of tracking our food intake and collecting all of this data. When we got a look at it there were patterns. For me, I noticed a lot of time I eat things like breakfast alone, and then because of work and night classes dinner was late at night.
For the essay we had to pick a dish or food and write how it relates to who we are. My choice?
Fondue
I thought it would be something interesting to write about, and learn more it's history. Before writing the essay I didn't know that fondue was invented by Swiss Villagers who found in the late winter months that melting the moldy cheese would make it more appetizing and dipping raw bread in it would make the bread easier to eat. I also had no clue that the word fondue came from the french word fondre which means to melt. Interesting
When we started this essay I didn't think that I was going to reach the minimum page requirement, but I ended up with more then I thought. When you take the history of the food, the process of prep and cooking and then in the end how it connects to who I am it really added up. I was glad that I finally got to turn it in on Friday, I worked on it hard and wanted it to be over with.
