Halloween 2014
This Halloween was a lot funner then I had expected it to be. My roommates and I had signed up to hand out candy again, because it is a lot of fun to see the little kids dressed up in their costumes, they are just so cute!!
And can I just say now that our dorm had slowly been accumulating decorations since before October. It was a little crazy I realized that there was at least 10 days left of september when we were putting up window decorations above our sink. Whoops!
Of course we happened to add more to it, and different things once October began, really our window just said Happy Halloween for two weeks of September.
My roommate had found a cool way to use the mason jars that I had a million of at home. The idea was to cut up glow sticks (in this case we used bracelets) dump their insides into the jar, add some glitter, cap and shake. Then you have this really cool glowy jar. It was pretty awesome.
We actually ended up using the extra glow sticks in my pumpkin because the lights that I had for it weren't very bright, and my roommate had a huge light with different flashing colors, mine needed something. (did I mention we aren't allowed to have candles in the dorms)
My roommate and I decided to make a night of fun. Our plans were to use our other 50% off coupon for pizza and just order it, which works for a busy night, and to make cupcakes. My roommate had bought a cake mix for my birthday but because of exhaustion, and classes, and the tons of dessert I ended up eating that week, we rescheduled cupcakes for a different night. We figured it would keep us busy since last year we had a TV to watch in our living room and this year its a little empty.
Besides having to go get the pizza in the trick-or treat chaos/rain and having to go back to get more candy in the rain it was a good night. We had a lot of fun decorating the cupcakes.
This is kind of what our cupcakes looked like at the end of the night. We had color dye spray to spray the frosting, My roommate had brought a froster from home, but with only one can of frosting I knew from experience we were going to have a few cupcakes without frosting. Some of the cupcakes we just sprayed (green) others obviously have frosting and sprinkles. My roommate had fun with one, I think she smeared the last of the frosting on the cupcake, and then just covered it in blue sprinkles. The night made for lots of laughs for sure.

Our day started with pumpkin carving, well actually it started with school, but you get the point. We each had gotten a pumpkin earlier in the week, and with the craziness of classes, tests, and job stuff there was no time to carve them. There may have also been the fact we didn't want moldy pumpkins on Halloween.
