Two Randoms don't make a Random
Or at least that is what my roommates and I found out when we were decorating our dorm window. One of my roommates saw a good decorating idea on pinterest of hanging little ornaments in the window. We took a quick trip to Target to buy some supplies to make our dorm a little more festive.
First was our kitchen window, which seemed a little easier to do stickers in the windows and a couple hanging snowflakes.
Then the hard part came when we were going to decorate our big window. We had 20 ornaments, want to organize them randomly, so that there was no particular order with the bulbs.
We then decided to try and make the different lengths of the strings we were going to hand them on also random. So in no particular order, we randomly wrote down different lengths, using four different lengths and 20 as our ending number, so if you do the math right, thats using the four lengths five times.
After doing that we put two, and two together, which ended up not working out well. All of our dark blue bulbs ended up being the same length, and most of the other bulbs did too, with a slight variation, so everything was an epic FAIL!

We kind of ended up throwing away our randomness on the lengths and started a pattern. We liked what we had started with in putting up the bulbs, and kept the pattern for the first four in lengths and randomized our bulbs.
Final Result!
It may look a little funky since I took the pictures during the day, and you can see the reflections, but you can also see the nice decorating job my roommates and I did. Yay!
Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!
