It was my Birthday!!
The week of my birthday or the days surrounding it were a little more then I expected. I had gone home that weekend to work, and to celebrate with my family. By the end of the weekend I was also fighting what I thought was a cold. Sunday night is usually our family celebrating birthday night since that is usually when everyone is in town, and there isn't much planned, except maybe a little football.
Sunday dinner was planned out by me: a pork roast, artichokes, what we call "Julie Potatoes", and some yummy rolls.
For dessert this year I wanted something a little different. I don't think I had had cheese cake in a while, and was some what craving it. Anything else was just going to be meh to me.
Say hello to this Chocolate Swirl Cheese Cake!
So rich, and so delicious!
Monday was my actual birthday, and to me started off like any other Monday. Get up, get ready, and go to school. While I was at class my roommates actually left notes and little surprises for me. I was a little shocked when I saw this on the bathroom mirror, but it was pretty awesome.
Once my classes for the day were done a few friends down the hall and I went to the Modesto mall to do some shopping. The only thing I was really looking for was some nice flats, since I really didn't have any. I mean I had flats, they were just getting a little old.
It was fun exploring a new mall, and seeing all of the stores the mall I usually go to doesn't have. I mean I've heard of some of the places, I had just never been in one to know what it was. When we got back, our RA was having open door hours, and so we decided to stop by and see what they were doing. There was a scary moving playing, and cupcakes. I apparently got a special cupcake that was hiding, and they all sang to me. I was blushing like crazy, and a little embarrassed. Wouldn't you be if a crowd of people who barely know you singing happy birthday.
On Tuesday we surprisingly had no school. It was a non-institutional day which meant sleeping in and relaxing. Hooray for that! My roommates had initially planned to celebrate my birthday with me on Monday, but because of late classes, and long days we figured Tuesday was a better day to do it. Tuesday night was like a girls night. We had been talking about having a movie night once in a while, and what better day to do it then for my birthday. My roommates made pizza and cake to celebrate. Yummy!
Oh, I might have forgotten to mention: housing usually gives out balloons to residents on their birthdays, and Monday I kept waiting for my balloon to show up. I kept opening the door and looking down the hall waiting, but it never came. Tuesday morning while I was making breakfast was when it came, with a happy belated birthday note. Funny thing is, two weeks later and that balloon is still standing strong floating in my room.
There was a couple of fun days surrounding my birthday, and with all of the cupcakes, cheesecake, and regular cake I think I'm good with cake until my next birthday.
