Warriors Up At Night
Apparently my school does this little Warriors Up at night thing. I'm pretty sure it happened last semester (and I might have even blogged about it a little) but this time it wasn't so themed toward something and was more for the games and stuff.
It was sponsored by CODE RED entertainment, the Student Recreation Center (gym), the housing office, and ASI/USU. Each group had set up a certain part of the activities.
The nice thing was that it actually gave me something to do on a Friday night besides sitting in my room/dorm being bored. Trust me, its happened, and its not fun.
There was glow pong, which by the sound of it I wasn't exactly sure what to expect, but it was exactly this. Playing water pong, with glow in the dark type setting. As in practically dark room covered in glow sticks. It was kind of awesome, I just wish I could have played. The sign ups went up fast and were full quick. Didn't know I had to sign up, but I guess its my loss.
Our Gym did a wheel of fortune type thing where they were categories based of health and fitness type things. Each team got a prize even if you were in 3rd place, and each person got a prize for participating. A T-shirt. Yep, I got a free T-shirt, kind of sweet if you ask me. Sorry didn't get any pictures, and while I would have been super good at it, we ended up in 3rd place which got us a lame inflatable type plastic bottle. Wahoo!!
For food they were serving nachos, yummy! and the Game room was providing root beer floats. It was kind of nice, I don't think I've had one of those in a long time. I just wish I had remembered to grab a spoon and napkin. Things get kind of messy when you are eating outside.
The housing office was providing a casino theme night. There was Bingo, poker, black jack, and roulette. I'm not really one to spend money on something like this, and even though it was fake money I was still a little hesitant. I did play a couple rounds of bingo and black jack thinking I could win, but I probably won what I had to pay to play.
At the end of the night, you were allowed to turn in your fake money for raffle tickets. For every $500 you had you got 1 ticket, and for me I got 5 tickets. There were 7 prizes you could put your tickets in for a chance to win. There was a music basket, a coffee/early morning basket, a summer/beach basket, a movie basket, and a couple others. Each one had a ton of tickets in it, so hoping I would win one of them was almost out of the question. *Although I do question weather or not they really mixed the tickets well enough or if it would have been in my best interest to put my tickets in last.
What ever I won't be a sore looser.
Like I said, it was a fun way to spend my Friday night and I did get a free T-shirt out of it, so I'll be a winner in that sense
