Day 2 of Disneyland: California Adventure
Of course it being a long first day and not going to sleep until after 1 in the morning we were in need of some sleep. I think my mom and I both woke up around 7 ish, I saw her get up, and I rolled over and went back to sleep thinking that she would have gone swimming or something, but I was wrong. She, I guess was as tired as I was, yet couldn't fall asleep. So when I woke up some time after nine, that is when we actually got up and got moving. Today we headed to California Adventure. Mom had never been there before and there wasn't much I remember about it since I wasn't in that park for very long last time.
We passed a few things, stores, a ride or two and signs that were directing people as to where to find Fast Passes for World of Color. The first ride of the day, and I was on my own for this one. It was the Grizzly River Run, it was apparently to much for mom, the drop, the turning something. She read the warning and decided not to do it. So I waited in line for probably 45 minutes got on the ride and got soaked. Yeah, did I mention that this ride was a water ride. I was in an eight person raft, and there were only six of us. I was with a family of four who were in line behind me, and another single rider. Out of everyone I'm pretty sure I was the one who got the wettest, and it was the first drop that got me the most. I didn't think about handing my mom my bag, but that was one of those things that got wet. There was really no place I could put it where it wouldn't get wet, which was disappointing, but oh well.
Of course it wasn't until I had waited in line a half an hour or so and rode the ride that we realized that there are some rides that I could do as a single person. Single riders. And that one, the one I just waited in a very long line for was one of those. If only we knew that before. Oh, well now we knew to keep an eye out for those kinds of rides.
Then we went through the forest and saw some animal tracks, and ran into Dug (from Up) and I got a picture with him. We went through some kind of contraption, and then there was a tire swing type thing that little kids were doing. Of course I thought that I could do that, and I was a little mistaken. There was a sign limiting height and age I believe, and I was over both of them. Oh, well.
Then we walked around a little more saw some shops, went into some shops, and found a ride that mom would go on. This wait wasn't as long, only about 15 minutes, and we went

under the sea with Ariel, Sebastian, Flounder, and of course the evil Ursula.
After that there were a few other rides that we found that mom would go on. The Golden Zephyr, Silly Symphony Swings, and Jumpin' Jelly fish.
After that I was on my own again for Goofy's Sky School. That one had some very sharp turns, and some fast drops. I don't think the line for this one was that long, but there was a single rider choice, which was lucky for me. I guess when they do single riders, they try and fill up the carts, because I was put in a cart that seated four, when a group of three people were seated inside.

After that we went to the Mickey Ferris Wheel, which was actually called Mickey's Fun Wheel. The thing about this ride was that some of the carts would swing, but everyone had the choice of having one that swung or not. Being with mom, we went on the non swinging cart, but I guess the nice thing was that the line to wait wasn't as long. And it was easier to enjoy this beautiful view of the Park.
After that we went for a little walk. Over here, turn left here, past the California Screaming Roller Coaster and the Toy Story Mania game, both of which I had hoped to come back to. And we went through or by a Bugs Land and went towards the food area I guess. The couple with us in the Ferris wheel had mentioned something about a Bakery Tour. That sounded pretty interesting to both mom and I, and so we were searching for it. The tout included a sample of sourdough bread and was about the process of how it is made. A lot of history, and a lot I didn't know. It takes a long time before bakers can actually cook the bread like a few days wait for all the things that need to be done before hand.
Then we continued around the park. We went through the Hollywood Studios part, and what ever else was there, and circled back around. We had passed by Soaring over California because mom wasn't sure about her whole heights thing. I went back and found out it was another single rider thing. Nice to be a single rider sometimes since you get through the line a little faster and get to squeeze in where other people wouldn't. It was pretty good, and something I think my mom would have been able to handle there wasn't a lot of moving really, it was more of a visual and senses thing. You see the and smell different things around California. Lots of fun.
Yeah, that was one mom knew she wasn't going to go on because of that drop, and there were multiple drops. I didn't expect it, and I'm sure I should have. Then we went walking through the park, we had about 30-45 minutes before the World of Color started and we wanted to see if there were any rides we could get on quickly before it started. While we were walking around during the day I noticed signs, may of the rides said that they would not be running shortly before and during the World of Color. I guess I understand that, the preparation and you don't want interference while it's happening.
This park lit up just like Disneyland, and looked almost as amazing. Almost.
There wasn't a ride really that had a short enough wait time that we could ride it and still have time to go and find a good view for the World of Color, so instead we just waited. We had found a nice spot just about center to it near the Little Mermaid ride we had been on earlier and waited. I'd say about ten or fifteen minutes before it started there was a woman that came by and said that she had extra tickets. We had noticed that there was sectioned off areas for reserved people. I guess that was for the people who got fast passes to get closer views. Thank you. We got closer and had just a little better view.
After that we headed back to the hotel to relax a little. Mom went for a swim, and I soaked my feet by the pool. It was another day of long lines and lots of walking. Our feet and legs deserved a little break. Relaxed a little, dried off, and went to get some dinner in the opposite direction of where we went the night before. This time we went to Mimi's a place where the food was a little more recognisable and a little better for us then the day before.
This time we went back to California Adventure and I went on a ride or two, or one before seeing the World of Color. I went on the Hollywood Tower of Terror, again, one of those rides I hadn't gone on before and only heard what was going to happen. All I knew was that there was going to be a drop, because you could see it, the windows at the top just drop and you just fall. I could feel my stomach move trying to catch up with the rest of me. Oh boy.

After watching that we went back to find those rides. Apparently there was a second showing of World of Color. If only we knew. We got went on the Toy Story Mania ride, and even though mom was a little more accurate at shooting, I got more points. She said she didn't realize that they were tracking score. I'm not so sure about that. But since they did a second showing, those other rides that weren't going to be active during the show, were shut down for the rest of the night. Disneyland closes at midnight, California Adventure closes around 10pm, after they do the second show.
So we went back to Disneyland and went on some of those rides instead. More lights, more magic, more awesome.
The first ride I believe was the Finding Nemo ride. Another ride where we went down to the Ocean Floor. Mom realized once we got in the Submarine, that she remembered that this one was a tight squeeze ride, as in you were almost shoulder to shoulder with your neighbor. The line when we got there was pretty short, maybe a 20 minute wait, not bad, an a lot shorter then the one we saw the day before. First time I got to use the Aquatic setting on my camera, although I'm not sure how well it did since everything we saw was through a little circular window and moving pretty quickly. At least I got to try it out.
Then we went on a couple quick and simple rides. Pinocchio's Daring Journey and Snow White's Scary Adventures. Like I said they were really quick and simple rides that were right next to each other and didn't require long waits. I think most people were waiting for a show or something. We went looking for something in Tomorrowland, a ride mom remembered as being Jerky, and she remembers worrying about me being tossed around to much. We hadn't found it quite yet, we walked into Captain EO, which was some show or something that had to do with Michael Jackson. That wasn't the ride, and was a little pointless if you ask me.

We knew we had to get a full day and finish what ever we hadn't done the past couple days on our last day to be in Disneyland. After our rides, we walked around some and got to see the park a little more then we had the night before. We also walked through some shops, and did a little shopping, I got a mug because I always seem to use the ones my parents got from someone who visited Disneyland. Now I have my own, and it has Tigger on it. Mom bought a couple things too, something for Tanya and Joliene, she had already gotten what she was getting dad. We left the park at around midnight, and I think we got the like 12:05 bus or something like that, a lot better then the 12:30 on which was packed. We had another long day ahead of us and needed some sleep.
