Utah Trip 2
February 26, 2011 Busy day the day before. Me? I had school, work then come home and pack. Could things work a little easier? Although I was happy that my essay that was killing me got turned in, but of course the assignment for the next essay was also handed out. Not what I wanted. This morning wasn't bad. Woke up with plenty of time to spare. Although Harley had just gotten comfortable she may have been a little annyoed that I had gotten up. Sorry, we just got up at different times I guess, even though I did kind of lay on my bed for a while before actually getting up. Of course there were last minute packing things and well everything else going on. Making sure someone was watching the cats, moving of cars, and finishing up all those other last minute things like garbage, recycling, and unplugging everything. Mom of course was also making breakfast. Trying to empty the fridge even though it wasn't as bad since she didn't do a lot of shopping the week before knowing that we were headed back soon. She was cutting up grapefruit, making sausage, and the onions with scrambled eggs, but that was last. There was also a phone call to the back, something about a card not working and dad was calling for ingredient reasons. We had enough things to worry about, we don't need more. Mom also had us stop, because somewhere in all this she misplaced her glasses. Oh, and lucky me this time I did have my I.D. and no it wasn't the one where I spent 30+ minutes at the DMV for, that one hasn't come yet, it was the one my school was holding out on, yeah, they had it for over a month and didn't even think about sending it to me. Really? Not even an email. I would have liked to know guys, since oh, I kind of need it to drive. Off to the airport. Parked in a fast track lot I think, then got taken to the airport. It wasn't that much of a pain, but it kind of was. then again, it's an airport, there's gonna be problems one way or another. Since mom was still in a boot, we got a wheel chair, which made boarding nice, since we were the first ones on. Sweet!
The plane ride was pretty tolerable. Got the window seat, which again was nice since I feel a little like a pest when trying to look over someones shoulder to see outside. Then again, I probably also blocked someone else's view. Sorry! landing went good, and this time when dad came to pick us up he didn't miss us, yay for dad! And again there was snow. YAY SNOW!!
Then again, it seemed that there was more snow near Salt Lake then near Gram's house. Aww. Oh well. It was kind of hard when we got there. Walking in and realizing she wasn't there. That was hard. Mom was crying, and it made me start crying. It was nice to see Joi and Corinne again, but it wasn't under the best circumstances that we were. Although I think Ceaser may have been excited to see a few more people in the house that were on the cats side. Sorry Chloe & Joi.
After unpacking a few things, mostly the food, we were a little hungry. I don't now if mom or Joliene ate the peanuts they gave us on the plane, but I know Tanya and I didn't. Chips and Salsa? Yes! Mom was looking for water, so I went into the garage to get a couple bottles. I thought I had hit the door on Ceaser's tail because I heard meows, but when I looked I didn't see him. As I continued to get the water I saw a little kitten come from under gram's car, it was a orange and white tabby. Was he stuck inside, I wasn't quite sure, but he was very friendly. Couldn't help but pet him and give him attention, poor little kitty was probably cold and lonely.
He/she was still not quite sure was so cute. Brought here inside and mentioned it to dad. I just thought he got stuck. Let him out the front and thought he would have gone home. But when I did he kind of just stayed there. Of course we all kind of fell in love with him. Tanya asked dad if we could keep him, he said ask Gram. Sorry to say dad but gram might have said yes.
We all kind of stayed and pet him. Joliene even gave him some of Ceaser's treats, which may be why he stayed. Mom & dad went out to get the rest of the things they needed (or at least some) for dinner, since they were in charge for making dinner tonight. It was slightly snowing when they left, yay, this time I was ready for it. :] It was coming down more and more when they came back. Corrinne and I actually had a snowball fight. All right!! Though she did say I was cheating since I was hiding between the cars. Can you blame me? I didn't think I was cheating, I thought I was trying to not get hit by one of the snowballs.
Dad came in twice with big snowballs, and both times I ran to the back and as I was running I fell down. Right on my butt! Couldn't help but laugh, especially since the first time he totally missed me. Ha ha! Although I got up and tried to go get right back at him. You had what was coming dad! I got dirty and fell in dirt and got soaked. Lots of fun!!
We did eventually make a snowman. Yay! It was the best snowman ever, I don't care what anyone else says. They were making fun of us because it was a little skinny, but really there wasn't much snow to work with. It had been years since I had made a snow man. But we did our best, even gave him button eyes, a rotten zucchini for a nose (since there were no carrots) and button eyes. Loved him!
We were wet, but needed to go to Tirzah's for dinner. Go inside, change, dry some and away we go. As we were leaving the kitten jumped into the car, aww. He wanted warm, he wanted love, but dad... can't we keep him? Dinner was already partially started. Dad had been making the spaghetti sauce earlier before we arrived, and then there was the bread. Yes, we smuggled it in. lol! Big lots of dinner, spaghetti, bread, ceaser salad, and then cake and ice cream for dessert. Yum! The conversations were going everywhere, from food to school, from did Emerson change to quite a few other things.
After dinner and dessert it seemed that we were conversing some. Then we also practiced and learned the song we were going to sing on Monday at the service. This one was a little different, at the end we split into two parts. Pretty good song.
Then some of us played card games, what was it called? Egyptian Rat King. I think that was it, gets a little intense, and have to pay attention. Went through a few games, but apparently as the games went on we got a little louder. Sorry, I guess we just got a little to much into it.
The night did seem to get pretty long, and it had been a long day anyway, sleep was needed. Went back to Grams, and the little kitten was still sitting on the porch, aww. Joliene picked him up and brought him to the garage, trying to make him warm. He got out some how though because I heard him meowing near the window. Good night, and we'll see what happens tomorrow.
